African perspective seems to have influenced Youngblood. Dude, when I was at a conservative Bible college in Irwin Ohio, I had an African friend there who put on a goat roast. We bought a local goat and Bonifus cut its throat--it totally knew what was coming as Peter led it in last rites and a sinner's prayer in the V-dub on the way to the execution. It was screaming through the gaping wound in its neck...I've never read the Old Testament the same since. Not a good experience, but a valuable one.
