AM Radio in the PM

You know what's interesting? When you're driving in SW Florida, and you can pick up an AM radio station from Charlotte, NC. Or how about a station in New Orleans when in TN.

Does anybody know how this is possible? It seems like it's just too far, and it's only happened to me when it's dark outside. Just a thought.

Sam, how come you don't curse more on your blog? I know you want to.

Oh, and your radio question, I blame it on the Northern Lights. If you've ever seen Frequency, you'll know that the Northern Lights and radio have a strange and mysterious relationhsip.

AM frequencys are long enough that they actually bounce around in-between the atmosphere, clouds, and such. Which is why somtimes their signals can be picked up much farther than one would normally expect. In case you forgot, I've got a great command of totally pointless information. Call me a nerd.
