In search for a purpose...a prayer
"There are very few people who realize what God would do with them if they abandoned themselves into his hands, and let themselves be formed by his grace." -- St. Ignatius
There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere, and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountaintop of our desires. -- Nelson Mandela
It is a beautiful thing, desire. It can fuel the mind, spirit and body to do amazing things. It can change the world. But it can also die. Bring us back to the place where we recognize that we have nothing. That in you, we live and move and have our being. Take us down the road to freedom, and shelter us through the valley. Give us mercy and grace for the journey. Renew our joy and give us peace that we cannot understand.
Take us back to the mountaintops you created and let us again see the desires you shaped in us and you long to fulfill. Shower down on us the assurance of your love. Give us belonging and a Father's pride. Speak into the brokenness and darkness with the light of your presence. Clean out our minds and our souls to live on the substance of the Divine. True relationship with you, the creator. Fill us with your life and spirit
O God, have mercy on us sinners....

AM Radio in the PM
You know what's interesting? When you're driving in SW Florida, and you can pick up an AM radio station from Charlotte, NC. Or how about a station in New Orleans when in TN.
Does anybody know how this is possible? It seems like it's just too far, and it's only happened to me when it's dark outside. Just a thought.

The Joy of a Fresh Start
You know, If I had to guess, I would think the year was invented for crops and solar cycles and all that astronomical stuff; but also for the opportunity for people to start something new. To have a chance mentally to put the past in the past, and look ahead.
This is a great example of how we are to forsake what is behind and strive toward what is ahead.
There are friends who are great goal setters, and people who just need a chance to start over. Regardless, the reset button is a nice thing sometimes, even if it doesn't truly exist.
Happy New Year!
